Frequently Asked Questions

01.

Do you take Commissions?

Yes! My 2024 Commissions are open! If you are interested in an acrylic or watercolour commissioned painting, please send me an email at info@sarahcourtney.art or send me a message through my contact form.

In your message, please include if you can:

- the size of painting you would like

-the medium (acrylic or watercolour)

-the colour scheme you have in mind

- the subject (a painting of you, or of someone else, or using a model reference, for example)

-approximate location of where you reside/will be shipping to (this will help me to get a better estimate for shipping costs

If you are unsure of any of the above details feel free to ask for my advice or for me to clarify anything. I want your piece to be exactly what you have hoped for and together we can figure out what that might be.

Exhibitions/Collaborations

I am always interested in hearing about opportunities to exhibit my work or potential collaboration opportunities. If you would like to discuss such opportunities please send me an email at info@sarahcourtney.art as I would love to hear more!

03.

Do you ship World Wide?

At the moment I do not ship worldwide, unfortunately. There are certain locations that have specific restrictions on shipping into their country/area and those restrictions come with fees and licensing that I cannot justify as of right now. If you are from one of the countries that I do not currently ship to, but you have someone/somewhere else you could have a painting sent, I would love to discuss what we can do to get one of my pieces to you! All shipping info can be found on my shipping and payment page.

04.

Do you accept Payment Plans?

Yes! I want my work to be as accessible as possible and because of that I gladly offer payment plans to my customers. For more details check out my shipping and payment page.

05.

What medium do you use?

I work with both Acrylic paints and Watercolour paints, as well as some mixed media materials such as wire and embroidery thread (and any others that feel necessary for a piece). I have worked with both mediums in the past and couldn’t stick to just one when creating my works. Watercolour has always had a special place in my heart with the fluidity and delicate nature of the brush work. Acrylic, on the other hand, is very expressive and strong and can pack a big punch while still being delicate at the same time. I use my mixed media primarily with my acrylic works to help emphasize the piece, drawing your eye to specific details I want to emphasize, and helping create further dimension to the painting. My overall goal with my work is to convey emotions and strength, and I find that both of these mediums allow me to do that in their own special ways.

06.

Why do you paint women?

This is a very common question I get and because of that it was the subject matter for my very first blog post on my website. If you would like to know the answer to this question, check it out here.
